LEAVE BASED DONATIONS FOR HURRICANE VICTIMS The IRS has announced that it will adopt the same position for donations of unused vacation, sick time or leave to victims of Hurricane Katrina that it used for the September 11, 2001 WTC Victims. It will not impute income to the workers donating their unused time and it will permit ordinary business expense deductions for the cash value of the time that is donated to charities by the employer. |
